3 Reject Trees Kingship

3 Reject Trees Kingship:

The trees went out on a time to choose a king over them; and they said to the olive tree, reign over us.

But the olive tree said to them,  should I leave my oil,  wherewith they honour God and man,  and go to be crowned king over the trees?

And the trees said to the fig tree, come and reign over us.

But the fig tree said to them, should I abandon my sweetness and my good fruit, and go to be crowned king over the trees?

Then the trees said to the vine, come and reign over us.

And the vine said to them, should I leave my wine, which cheers God and man, and go to be crowned king over the trees?

At last, all the trees said to bramble, come and reign over us.

And the bramble said to the trees, if truely you mean to make me king over the trees, then come and put your trust in my shadow, and if not, let fire come out of the bramble, and destroy the cedars of Lebanon.
